Sector Knowledge Seminar: The Criminal Justice Sector

This Sector Knowledge event will give delegates a comprehensive overview of the stakeholders, institutions and structures of the criminal justice sector. This will include in depth investigations into the roles of stakeholders at all levels, including the Ministry of Justice, the Home Office and Office of the Attorney General and the six core agencies of the criminal justice system: the Police Service, the Crown Prosecution Service, Her Majesty’s Court Service, the National Offender Management Service (prisons and probation) and the Youth Justice Board.

The seminar will show how and why policy and is formed and describe how all the organisations listed above join together in the process of delivery. Crucially, the day will also give an insight into the current political and economic climate surrounding the criminal justice sector and how this may effect legislation and policy development in the short and medium term.
